I really, really, really, wish someone would write the "official" WordPress guide to get permalinks working with Lighttpd.
I know that Lighttpd and WordPress are two different things, but still, it would be nice to have someone at WP hammer it out so that we know what works.

Its all in the config file. Whats not working? I run lighthttpd and have had no problems with WP except for the occasional poorly designed feature misbehaving.

Nope, none. They work fine, even when changed from default.

@v2005t: I can attest that the r00tshell.com solution works, and works really well.
