• I wish wordpress didn’t need a plugin for this basic feature. At least they could let me move wp-admin.

That said, this plugin doesn’t change wp-admin so it doesn’t provide obscurity (yes yes we all know that obscurity isn’t real security). It would be nice if it did but that’s probably asking for more than a simple and light solution to blocking basic scripts.

So this blocks wp-login.php and it works. Good enough, I guess. Especially if you really don’t want any options at all. If it ever became popular it might lose that usefulness.

    Hi Frug.

    You’re totally right.
This plugin is a first attempt to see if it can avoid login brute-forcing by simply relocate the login page (I use a plugin that emails me if so, and so far I’ve received 0 emails since I’ve installed Move Login).
If it appears to not be enough, I may think of changing wp-admin too, and maybe add an option page to change the slugs in a future version.
I think it’s a bit too soon to consider this.

    Thanks 🙂

It’s not a bad idea. The other plugins that I’ve seen looked a little bloated for just this, so I’ll keep checking in.
