Feel free to contact me so I can try some front-end debugging: http://katieseaborn.com/contact

I am having the same problem. I have uploaded the latest Zotpress plugin (Version 5.0.10) to my WordPress (Version 3.6.1) and cannot upload my library
    https://www.zotero.org/bdieu/items
    to
    http://bohdanpawlowicz.org/
When I go to the 3. Import and click on Import Everything, it just says ……..importing items from 1 to 50 and keeps turning for a long time without result.

    Hi there,
also had that problem with zotpress, wouldn’t connect to the zotero library no matter what…

what actually helped and might easily be applied on server-side is to turn off PHP Safe Mode, an outdated feature existing in older PHP versions, but deprecated/removed by the most up-to-date installs… this really helped, and afterwards, imports and syncing would go smooth as butter 🙂

    check http://www.php.net/manual/en/features.safe-mode.php for further information…

Thank you for the information. However, I’m on PHP 5 and safe mode is off.

what might also help is to check if one of those access modes is enabled:

A HTTP request method supported by WordPress enabled on your server: cURL, fopen with Streams (PHP 5), or fsockopen. Optional: OAuth enabled on your server.

I’m unable to import my library also. I found this message on the server error log: Does this identify the issue?

/home1/envisiw1/public_html/demo/wp-content/plugins/zotpress/lib/actions/error_log: [31-Oct-2013 19:38:50 UTC] PHP Warning: DOMDocument::loadXML(): Start tag expected, < not found in Entity, line: 1 in /home1/envisiw1/public_html/demo/wp-content/plugins/zotpress/lib/admin/admin.import.functions.php on line 121

Looks like the script isn’t generating the expected XML output, which means that there might be a cURL etc. error. Would you be able to troubleshoot with your host or IT person?

Hi, I’m having a similar problem on a Buddypress (multi-site) installation. Zotpress recognizes my Zotero library, but when I try to import, it says ” There are no citations to display. If you think you’re receiving this message in error, you may need to import your Zotero library.” I am trying to sync two collections from a Public Zotero Group, and have tried Import All and Import Collections several times with no luck.

This may be related to the group settings on Zotero. You may have to check the “Allow library access” option for the key (under Feeds/API) and/or set Library Reading to “Anyone on the internet” under Settings.

Just tried both of those, but they didn’t work.

I’ll have to take a closer look. Feel free to contact me: http://katieseaborn.com/contact

Thanks. I just sent an email and a Zotero group invite.

Curious: Is everyone having this issue running PHP 5.4 or later?

I had a similar problem and gave up trying to fix it. Using Zotero is not essential for me.
