Let users save specific posts to their "collection" / "favorites" ? (3 posts)

    Hey guys

I'm trying to figure out what the best way to implement this feature would be. I'd like to be able to let users save posts or tag posts as being in their collection, their favorites, or their wishlist. Say they like a review post and want to add it to their favorites in their profile.

Or they have collected several of the items in the database and want to be able to display a sorted list of these items.

My guess is there would be a custom taxonomy set, and then some buttons or something that generates terms like "username-wishlist" "username-favorites" "username-collection" and then they can click on a link to view the whole thing (sorted by date or whatever is fine... I guess I could deal with any custom formatting or anything like that once it's in a taxonomy.

I'm fine with letting other users be able to see /wishlist/username or /username-wishlist/ if they type it in or are linked to it. Doesn't need to be protected in any way.

I'm just not sure how to make it so any logged in user can click a link or a check box and actually tag the book with their custom code.

I know there's that folksonomy plugin, but can I make it work for custom taxonomies?

I found this which seems to work with some tweaking

The download there was broken, but I was able to search for the file name and find it.

seems to be functioning alright, though I have to figure out how to get it to show when users are not logged in, and to encourage them to log in/ register:
