i am using wordpress 3.6.1, with the twenty-eleven theme, & i have done a few modifications, but can’t backtrack enough to figure out if/where i screwed up the single post/comment page, or if some plug-in did or what.

this is the page, & it’s pretty ‘minimal’ by choice:

  • You shouldn’t be modifying a default theme at all – as any changes will be lost when WP is updated. Instead you can make changes in a child theme – http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

So probably the best solution will be to move your changes to a child theme and then reinstall the parent theme.

If you make a copy of the current theme folder to your local computer (using FTP to download it) – you’ll have that as a reference as to changes you’ve made.

To rule out plugin issues, try deactivating all of them and see if the problem goes away.

ok, i renamed the theme folder & re-installed the main one, & re-did changes i was willing to try on the newly installed theme, & that worked.

    thanks
