Layout problems

Hi, I’m new to wordpress.

I’m trying to add a news blog to our existing website (http://www.firesecurity.co.uk/news) but I cannot get the layouts to match.

I’ve modified the code of index.php & header.php but I can’t figure out how to move the blog further down the page so that our website links fall at the top of the page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
