• i’d LOVE to use your plugin. it’s so beautiful and simple, that it makes all the other recipe plugin options…non-options. 🙂 but…i can’t get it work with my theme 🙁

i’m using crevision. blog page shows excerpts. looks good, but all posts are wrapped in the recipe box. and pushes my sidebar to the bottom of page. i added an extra </div> (in chrome webmaster tools), near the end (somewhere around “read more” and it seemed to fix part of it. but i have no idea where i’d add it to the actual plugin code. and can’t figure out the sidebar issue.

i’ll leave it active so you can see. hopefully it’s a simple thing.
thanks much for your amazing work/offering!!

That’s strange. Do you still have that extra </div> in there? If so, can you remove it so that I can see the original behavior?

    Thanks!

thanks so much for responding. was just about to give up.

no the extra </div> isn’t there. i only added it through the browser (like dev tools). i only saw one thread that mentioned something about problems with excerpts, and “read more”…but it never gave a solution. except – to remove a <div> somewhere at the beginning?

i was surprised in all my searching – that i seem to be the only one experiencing problems. normally i’d just remove the plugin, but…i really really like it! 😛

thanks in advance for giving it some attention.

i didn’t mean ‘experiencing problems’ the way it sounded. i meant that usually i can find a [resolved] thread to solve my problems.

How are you getting the recipe to appear on the excerpts page? Typically, because Recipe Card is rendered using short codes, it won’t appear at all on this page. Are you manually copying the short code somewhere?

I’m not inserting any short code myself.

I’m not doing anything out of the ordinary. I activated the plugin, set a theme for the recipe cards, and I’m using the post editor to create the recipe, thus it’s showing up on my blog page. My blog page only shows excerpts by default.

I’m confused. It says in Installation…
To use Recipe Card, click the Recipe Card icon on the “Edit Post” pages. Enter the recipe and click “Save”. This inserts the recipe into your blog post.

If it’s too much hassle – I understand.

My theme allows me to change the number of characters that shows in excerpts…so I changed it from 100 to 333. This seems to have fixed part of the problem. The recipe card border no longer wraps around all my posts. But…the sidebar is still pushed to the bottom.

Probably has nothing to do with you, as I saw in the code where the width is set to 100%. Guess I’ll have to figure that out on my own.

Should be okay I guess…as long as I keep my recipes short. :/

Are you using a plugin for your excerpts? If so, is there a setting on the plugin to not include content from short codes in the excerpts?
