Layer Stuck

I know it’s been a while since you updated it this plugin, so It’s not really been tested fully compatible with the latest versions of wordpress, but I wanted to post this here in hopes of getting some help.

Whenever I hover over a bible reference, the layer pops up as intended, but does not go away, even if I move my mouse off the bible reference. The only way to remove it is to move the mouse off the reference, then move it back on, much like a toggle switch.

Is there a way to change that so that the layer is only up as long as the mouse is hovered over the reference, but once you move the mouse away from the reference, the layer disappears?

If the creator of this plugin is no longer keeping it up, do any other users know a way to modify the php to get it to work correctly?
