Latest x Posts from Cat x in different directory

    I have been using WordPress for some time, but either forgot the answer to this or never knew it.

    My WP install is in the main directory /

    I want to run a loop to pull the latest x stories from certain categories on pages that are located in a sub-directory so it’d be http://www.domain.com/name/page where “name” is the NOT the category prefix.

    How is this possible to do?
