it “broke your site”? Please explain a bit better. I need to know error messages or other issues.

Ahh – I had already applied WordPress 3.1.3 update the day before. Then updated WordPress SEO the next day and got the following error when accessing my site with any URL or login for WP.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘&’, expecting T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /homepages/18/d361357967/htdocs/funkinutt/wp-content/plugins/bwp-external-links/includes/class-bwp-external-links.php on line 270

I went into FTP and deleted WordPress SEO and deleted the bwp-external-links folder and got another similar message about another plugin folder subscribe-to-comments-reloaded. Removed that and still another similar error message.

Deleted WordPress SEO plugin folder. Still the same. Restored my site from backup after that and all is back to normal but of course still is asking me to update WordPress SEO now.

Let me know if you need more info. 🙂

BTW – Even though I restored my site from a backup, I did save a copy of the broken site in case you need to check it out or something.
