Latest archive in home page

Friends,

I am using wordpress to publish a bi-monthly magazine.
In this site Archives are the prime menu. Archives will appear in the below format.

Edition (Archives)
>>Sept 07 (Magazine 3) – Latest archive.
>>July 07 (Magazine 2)
>>May 07 (Magazine 1)

I need only the posts from latest archive to be appeared in the home page.

I tried putting recent posts in the home page. This will give a next button until you read all 3 magazines. I want the visitor to read the latest magazine first. Then pick old versions from archives menu if needed.

Please advise.
