I've got a precursory question first.
What's the default number of posts/page on the home page for example?
And is there an easy way to tell when I've hit the last post on a particular page? I'm using a graphic at the end of each post to separate them, but I do not want it to display at the end of the last post on the page.

By default, you control number of posts per page via the top setting at Options -> Reading

Ok, I feel significantly stupider (or is just lazy) that I couldn't find that.
Also, I've found a clunky solution to use until my blog reaches the default #. I'll have to change it as we post, but unless I (you) can figure something else out, it'll suffice.
