    hi
im using a static home page which has content consisting of various images. I want to keep the home page exactly how it is, yet add in the latest blog post just above it, consisting of the date, title and maybe the excerpt. This would appear only on the home page.

i understand i may be able to do this by adding a php query before the loop. can anyone shed some light on this?
    regards

i have trawled through the codex already
is it not just php code like:
if this is homepage, then get posts, count = 1???

thing is, this may replace the existing home page content, i simply want the latest posts links above the existing content.

done it using a new template file assigned to my homepage only.
    thanks anyway.

    Hi herbiehysteria,
I am trying to achieve the same thing. Are you able to post the code that you used to get the post above the page content.

    Many thanks
    KT
