Ad King Pro
[resolved] Large vertical space on ads? (4 posts)

    Hi, love your plugin. Trying to show 2-3 ads in the sidebar using the Choices theme and having issues with the vertical size. Each "cell" is much larger than the ad (261x100), something like 261 x 521. The "adkingprocontainer" height is something like 1643 pixels. This gives three large vertically spaced ads. Even showing one add has the height of 521, so it's not related to the # of ads shown. Tried to override the css but not having much luck.

    The style of the ad cell shows as "adkingprobanner sidebar akpbanner banner32". And I put the shortcode in the text widget of the sidebar, but does the same no matter what part of the page it is used on.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    -james

    Hi James,

    As I can assure you that the plugin is adding no such height, I can only assume that it has something to do with the theme your using. Unfortunately I can't give you support on the theme however I would be happy to help in finding the right override for you.

    What browser do you use? If in Firefox or chrome (both of these have great inspectors) inspect your banner and have a look down the right CSS lost side when you have the adkingprobanner element selected. My guess would be that the theme has a style with a height under the class 'sidebar'. All you should need to do is add your own similar to:

    .adkingprobanner.sidebar {
    height: auto !important;
    }

    Now you may or may not need the important depending on the order in which the styles are produced to the page. Best practice is to use order rather than the 'important' tag to force CSS.

    Look forward to hearing how you get on with that.

    Thank you Ash!! I was using chrome to inspect the elements, but your tip led me to the theme css.

    I was able to find that the theme was setting the min-height to 521px. So I changed it to 100 and works great!

    The theme has a css override section, and just added the css below to make it work in case anyone else has the problem (it's a Kriesi theme, so may apply to other themes of his)

    .adkingprobanner.sidebar {
    min-height: 100px;
    }

    Thanks again!
