Language selector then 2 different WP ?

    Hello,

    This is my first WordPress site so please be clement 😉

    What i am trying to setup would be organized this way :

    A welcome page that would be a language selector with full size background picture ( somehow like this : http://www.newzealand.com/)
    And then each language (2 in total) button lead to a different wordpress installation

    The theme/plugins/admins of the 2 wordpress would be the same, only language change.

    I’m wondering what is the best choice for this kind of layout.
    should i put the welcome page at root folder and then each wordpress in separate sub domain with only one database?
    Would it be better to use Multisite?
    Should i make a third wordpress for the welcome page?
