• In my italian woocommerce site I have everything translated correctly except the checkout page where the form’s fields are all still in Eng. Thought I had messed up something in my child functions.php or in the templates so I took them out just to troubleshoot… but nothing changed. I disabled all plugins and re-enabled just WC alone, saved the settings … same thing. I’m running out of ideas… if worse comes to worst, is there a file I can forcly edit with italian field’s names and hopefully have it saved in my child theme?

    Thanks in advance

  • Other people using Italian and other languages have had this problem. Various workarounds are given in this thread.

If you put your .mo and .po file in your child theme directory, observing the WC directory structure, your edits should survive an update.

I read the thread you mentioned but none of the solutions (except those about modifying the core files) worked. So I tried using a plugin (Swiss Knife) which partially solved the problem. Also, it’s kind of weird but putting .mo and .po file in my child folder following the WC structure didn’t do anything at all on the other hand I could edit few other parts (not in the checkout billing & shipping order) by putting those files in a woocommerce folder inside the main languages folder of WP.
