    Thanks for the plugin, looks like it’s becoming popular…I was really excited to start using it, but am having difficulty.

    I have an error when I activate the plugin, which appears in the header of my site:

    Warning: is_readable() [function.is-readable]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(C:\Inetpub\vhosts\portaldesk.net\httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/C:\Inetpub\vhosts\portaldesk.net\httpdocs\wp-content\plugins\playbuzz//lang/playbuzz-en_US.mo) is not within the allowed path(s): (C:\Inetpub\vhosts\portaldesk.net\httpdocs\;C:\Windows\Temp\) in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\portaldesk.net\httpdocs\wp-includes\l10n.php on line 457

    I think it’s a language file error, it’s calling for
    playbuzz-en_US.mo
    which is missing from the download.

    As an alternate I tried to embed the quiz, but that didn’t work either.

    Can you let me know where I can access a copy of this missing file?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for trying to use PlayBuzz 🙂

    We’re looking into the problem you’ve reported and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

    In the meantime, did you try using the non wordpress embed snippet?

    If you did, what was the problem?
    Can you link the address of the page?

    Thanks for checking in so quickly : )

    The site is on a VPN so you won’t be able to access, but i’ve tested the plugin on some other sites that I manage with the same error.

    The non-wordpress embed snippet I used:

    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.playbuzz.com/bundles/feed”></script&gt;

    <div class=”pb_feed” data-height=”auto” data-game=”/jennifers10/can-you-get-away-with-diy-business-technology” data-tags=”All” data-social=”true” data-recommend=”true” data-margin-top=”0″ data-game-info=”true” data-key=”Default”></div>

    I’m now wondering if this is supposed to be used inside the plugin?

    Either way, I can’t get past the error code in the header to even try the snippet anywhere else but in a post.

    Thanks!

    There are 2 alternative ways of embedding PlayBuzz’s playful content:

    • 1. WordPress plugin – Mainly by using shortcodes and widget.
    • 2. Snippet code – The snippet code does not require the wordpress plugin activated or even installed.

    * The 2nd option does not contain as many features and configuration options as the first one.

    I suggest that since you have an issue with the wordpress plugin, you should use the 2nd option until we solve the issue.

    Just paste the snippet in any post/page and it should work.

    Let me know if this helps!

    I tried using the snippet, but it does not embed anything…the post just ends up displaying the chunk of code:

    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.playbuzz.com/bundles/feed”></script&gt;

    <div class=”pb_feed” data-height=”auto” data-game=”/jennifers10/can-you-get-away-with-diy-business-technology” data-tags=”All” data-social=”true” data-recommend=”true” data-margin-top=”0″ data-game-info=”true” data-key=”Default”></div>

    This is what I found on the website, should I be using something else?
    *I tested this on multiple sites with the same results

    The snippet should go in the “Text” tab of the editor rather than “Visual”.

    We’ve managed to find the issue, it seems it is related to WordPress’s installation on windows, IIS:

    We will launch a hot fix soon that should fix the problem.
    Since we weren’t able to reproduce the bug we would appreciate a feedback regarding the fix 🙂
