I am using Kittens' "show categories" plugin (http://mookitty.co.uk/devblog/category/show-categories/) to avoid certain categories being displayed in the category menu or as post. Now, when I click on my archives the post strange enough still appears. How is this possible? I used the hide_category_posts function as well. Many thanks!!

Hi, I am looking for a similar hack: I want to avoid displaying a category in the archives. I can hide a category being displayed in the menu (wp_list_cats) and from the front page but not yet from the archives. It is not so usefull to only hide it from the menu and front page when the posts show when a user clicks on the archives.
HCP was designed to only work on the front page. The idea being that you would *want* the posts to be visible in the archives, just not on the front page.

Okei:-) Do you know if there is a way to hide posts from the archives as well? Many thanks!!
It wouldn't be hard to change the function to respect a flag to that effect, but lately my efforts have been stalled by computer problems that have limited my time to work on stuff like this.
Maybe soon.

That would be great! I tried some things already (I am not PHP skilled...). One solution worked but then I can not access the post either via a permalink and that I would like to still be possible. Michiel

Hello Kitten! Could you please please please:-) consider this feature request? It would be so great to have it in the ShowCategories plugin as it would allow me to build a seperate category that I can access via a permalink but not having it show up in the archives. Michiel
