    How do I keep my site active? Meaning. I received a call from someone saying my site was about to expire soon. Do I need to pay wordpress a fee before my site expires? My hosting site is up to date as I just paid that. If I do have to pay wordpress a fee so my site doesn’t expire, how and where do I do that?

    How do I keep my site active?

    assuming this is a self-hosted site, then all you need to do is to make sure you renew your domain name & hosting account when it is due.

    I received a call from someone saying my site was about to expire soon.

    I would be very careful about responding to phone calls unless you can verify that they have come from your hosting company. There are various phone scams around.

    Do I need to pay wordpress a fee before my site expires?

    No. WordPress is free.

    Thanks for the response esmi. I thought my hosting account included my domain name. I don’t remember ever registering them separately. How do I find this out? I use DreamHost. Thank you in advance for the help!

    Start by checking with Dreamhost. They’re best placed to advise you as to who is currently the registrar for your domain name.
