• Hi, i got this little problem.

    I have different users that post in my blog, and sometimes i have to edit their post.

    Doing this, and due to the fact that i’m admin, the posts change the author to me, and doesn’t permit original authors to edit the post if they have to do it.

    So I’m trying to find a solution because, the edit form of the post doesn’t allow me to set back the post to other users, but only to the admin…

    Any tip?

  • I setup a user with the Author Role, wrote a post and published it, then logged in as admin and editted the post and saved it, then logged in as the orginal author and was able to edit the post.

    Am I missing something?

    I’m using WordPress 2.0.4

    author user is level 2 ?

    What WordPress version?

    wait, usually we answer a question without another question.

    so your author level is set to 2?

    That was useless.

    user level = 2 is from OLD WordPress versions. Thus, MichaelH’s question. The answer to YOUR original question could very well be dependent upon what version of WP you’re using.

    we have the same version (2.0.4), for me author is set 2

    In my wp_usermeta table for the user with the Author role:

    wp_user_level is set to 2
    wp_capabilities is set to a:1:{s:6:"author";b:1;}

    Admin user is set as follows:
    wp_user_level is set to 10
    wp_capabilities is set to a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}
