keep image separate from gallery in one post

    Does anyone anyone know how to keep an image from being included in the gallery for a given post.

    I have tried it before and succeeded by uploading the single image direct from the media library rather than the gallery…

    but 2.7 now amalgamates all images in a post into the same gallery. So you can’t have a gallery of say 6 shots and then another separate shot as a header or whatever – as in my example above…

    Any workarounds or thoughts on this?

    I can’t be the only person trying to do it… can I?

    Found it. You have to import the image you want to keep separate via another post that doesn’t contain a gallery. That way when you include that image in the post with the gallery it doesn’t amalgamate it into the post media gallery or the post gallery? Does that make sense?

    Oh and by the way thanks to everyone who responded to this issue. You were all very helpful. Not!
