Exactly what I was looking for! With my custom post type, I was using multiple categories to display my portfolio items. When using the next_post_link or prev_post_link functions, WordPress failed to stay within my custom post type's categories. With this plugin, I am able to specify the custom post type taxonomy for the function to stay within and now I have no problems using the next and previous links.
