Hey, I just switched to wordpress, from cutenews, and I was wondering if you can just take the main feature of the blog (the actual blog entries) and fit it into a iframe/table/div?

Like I have for my current blog : http://www.monixuk.com

    Thanks for any help. :D

I don't know if there is an import for cutenews, have you tried the search? Type cutenews and see what you get.

As for your design, why use frames? There's no need for it, as far as I can tell but I'm no coder/designer.

Your theme looks fairly simple to convert. What you can do to ease the process is take an existing theme and then change ghe gfx and some css and you'll have similar/identical look site.

Check out http://WRC.os42.com to view each theme live. I think if cutenews can export rss/rdf feeds, then you can use the import feature in WP to import those feeds which would import your posts.

Meaning, get rid of the banner, the side nav with the archives and search and the layout, and just have the blog entries, and put that into day an iFrame

  5. All you have to do is add the Loop to your pre-existing webpage.

For more info, please do a search here for "integrate" or "the loop".

Right, I have read that... and it makes very little sense to me lol, what is the loop code to just show the blog entries then?

I guess you can just code your layout, and have your WP have the CSS of any other page (besides the layout page) and target that into the iframe..... that makes sense :P I did that long ago.

MacManx, to be fair even I don't have a freaking clue how the loop works, where it goes and why it spews out errors. I know many, many sites that are designed from scartch without a loop and have the loop placedinto after the design is done.

I'm trying a similar approach - with the design/css completed, but requiring the inclusion of a loop. So far it's been a nightmare. I've browsed these forums for a while, but the simple bits about the loop don't seem to work in all cases. At least not in my case and difuring out why is VERY difficult.

Monixuk I still have to wonder why you want to keep the frames, but if you follow Mac's instruction it's a step in the right direction. If figure it out, let me know:)

Erm nothing, I just do see what I have to enter into my site to get the loop to display my posts. Bear in mind, i have no background with php, or even wordpress.
