  • Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues. We’re trying to reproduce the problem that you and some others are experiencing above. If you’d be so kind to let us know who your hosting provider is that would be very much appreciated.

In the mean time, I understand you need to get your site working as it was. Please see our downgrade guide and download the previous version here.

Alternatively, we’re always able to resolve issues the fastest by getting temporary WordPress & FTP credentials to a site experiencing the issue. If you could provide those using our bug submission form, that would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Sincerely,
    Mike

    Hi Mike-

Successfully downgraded, thanks to your instructions. Glad I had the presence of mind to check the support page before crashing and bashing my way back to 1.9.13 πŸ™‚

I’m on a linux VM from these guys:

    https://www.linode.com/

Good luck getting this problem sorted. I await further instructions.

    George-

Thanks, George! We appreciate your help and feedback.

I faced the same problem today.

@mweichert, feel free to get in contact with me if you need any further information about the system. simonsimcity@gmail.com

It seems like there are many other’s having issues with 2.0.0 … For this version, only 8 people reported it as working and 16 as not-working.

Ive got the same problem :(.

    My info:

Operating System : Linux (32 Bit)
    Server : Apache/2.2.0 (Fedora) mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8
    Memory usage : 30.49 MByte
    MYSQL Version : 5.1.58
    SQL Mode : Not set
    PHP Version : 5.3.22
    PHP Safe Mode : Off
PHP Allow URL fopen : On
    PHP Memory Limit : 268435456
PHP Max Upload Size : 2M
PHP Max Post Size : 8M
    PCRE Backtracking Limit : 500000
PHP Max Script Execute Time : 30s
    PHP Exif support : Yes ( V1.4 )
    PHP IPTC support : Yes
    PHP XML support : Yes

I’m having issues as well. I have tried downgrading but it apparently has not worked. That is, I downloaded the earlier version, used FTP to put it in the directory indicated in the instructions. However I still cannot access my dashboard after doing so.

    I am using WordPress 3.5.2

I know very little about PHP or MySQL so I don’t know what information to provide or where to find it.

For the moment I have disabled the plugin entirely by renaming the folder with a 0 in front of the file name, but have not deleted anything. This allows me to access my dashboard again and everything else seems to be working okay

Oddly, if rename the folder, NextGen does seem to work and my galleries display on my web page, but I cannot access my dashboard.

Any help would be appreciated, I will provide any information such as I am able upon request (more specific requests and instructions are helpful, assume I know nothing about where to find any of it).

I’m using WordPress 3.5.2 on two of my blogs. One of them had an existing gallery I simply updated. This ended up with the error described by @gsfergusson (but could be reactivated by @mweichert’s advised guidance of downgrading!). The other blog is a freshly started one without an already existing gallery. I’ve just been taking a look at the plugin’s options and it seemed to be well working. I’ll be adding a few pictures soon to check out the further behaviour by creating a new gallery.

I’ll let you know what happened if you like.

Hey all – Just an update that we’re actively working the MVC template issue today.

If you are reading this, and you are having the error above referencing the MVC templates, can you please post here:

    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/errors-referencing-mvc-template?replies=1

We’re trying to consolidate any discussion on that issue, and also make it easier for others who might have the issue to find it.

    Thanks.

@bardicheart – you said you were ‘having issues’. Can you confirm if you had the same error message as above referencing the MVC template?

You might also retry the rollback process again. It sounds like something may not have gone quite right there since you are still having issues.

    Thanks,
    Erick

I’m not happy that all my album thumbnails seem to have been dynamically resized – shrunk. Where is the setting to override this because a css edit just gives me a fuzzy thumbnail!!!!

halsdesign? I’m not sure why your album thumbs are being resized, but can you post that as a separate thread please? When you do, can you include a link?

Just updated this plugin and it crashed our site… Error 500. Reverted to the previous version via FTP and the site is back up.

    @photocrati – I didn’t receive any error message.

I went to my site, it loaded normally, I noticed there were some updates available and I applied the 3 plugin updates, NextGen Gallery was one of them. After the updates completed and I attempted to return to my update page (there was an update for my theme I had not applied yet) I got a blank page.

Once I logged out, cleared my cache and cookies (on the advice of my web host) I tried logging in again, and although login seemed to work fine, any part of my dashboard came up as a blank page (it also loaded VERY quickly but there was not content, just a blank page. Using view page source the only “code” was the number 1, same for every part of the dashboard). They claimed they could log into my dashboard (I’m not sure how since I never gave them my password).

The problem I described with the roll back not working was apparently my fault, for whatever reason the files did not overwrite properly. I have corrected that and 1.9.13 is now working problem and I am able to access my dashboard.

I am using the Raindrop theme by Tenman
I am using the following plugins
    Askimet 2.5.8
    Image Widget 4.0.8
    NextGEN Gallery 1.9.13
    Simple Contact Form 2.0.9
    Simple Share Buttons Adder 3.1
    Social Media Feather 1.3.2
    WP User Avatar 1.5.3

As I said earlier, one of the curious things I noticed was that when NextGen Galler 2.0 was active, the web site itself worked and the galleries seemed to function (I did not test them very much beyond, the images are there and appear to load). I simply could not access my dashboard, all I got was a blank page but no error messages at all.

If I were to hazard a guess, I would think maybe it was conflicting with one of my other plugins or theme. But I really don’t know. I can try to find more information about my server and settings if necessary, I’m using Network Solutions.

Did the update without a backup, and now can’t even log in to my Dashboard:@
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/iarf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/admin/manage-images.php on line 269”

How do I therefore get back to the earlier version?
