    My server won't allow the addition of the .htaccess file that comes with this plugin. is there any way around this?

    two 's up.

    Leaving the .htaccess gives 500 internal server error for everything coming out of the view directory (css, js and images)

    Deleting it would presumably leave a security issue with files being readable by the public.

    Could you please clarify what this risk is and if there are workarounds for people in a shared hosting environment where often one can't have Override All...

    Depends what is running the server but for nginx you could add this to its directives.

    # nginx configuration

    location ~ (\.log\.ini)$ { deny all; }
    location ~ ^(zend_cache) { deny all; }

    Hi guys,
    The htaccess file will be removed from next release. Looks like it causes some issues on different systems.
    I'm moving caching from filesystem to database.

    Regards,
    Vasyl
