• I currently have an html-based website with a WordPress blog. I’m planning to eliminate the website and use WordPress as a CMS for the site and the blog. The WP installation is currently in the /blog directory, which of course creates a problem of moving the installation to the root folder. Rather than monkey with moving everything over, would it be easiest to do the following?

    1) Export my blog posts
    2) Delete all of the WordPress files
    3) Reinstall in the root
    4) Import the posts back in once I’ve set the site up as a CMS?

If I decide to do that, would it work?

Anyone? If I delete every WordPress file and then try to install in a different directory, will it screw things up?
