    Martin,

You do need BuddyPress installed for this plugin to work, however the latest version of BuddyPress has many benefits over earlier versions: it works with just about any standard WordPress theme and you can enable only those BuddyPress functions you want to use and leave all other functions turned off.

    That’s a real pity 🙁
I have a 4 year old site that I’m not about to install Buddypress into but has run bbpress for all that time. I was looking forward to adding BadgeOS but only when I could reward users with badges in their forum activity.
Maybe you guys will consider another bbpress addon sometime in the future and ill try BadgeOS then.

We talked about updating this plugin to work with only bbPress in a later version. To get around using BuddyPress you should be able to activate BuddyPress but turn off all of the BuddyPress components. This should allow you to use the plugin just for bbPress…

As it turns out, I installed BuddyPress anyway, to get more community spirit going so this is a moot point now 🙂
