    I am thinking of shifting my wp-comments-post.php to another directory to avoid spambots from locating the file and spamming my weblog.

    When I did so, I kept receiving the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/user/public_html/inkspill/hiddenfoldername/wp-comments-post.php on line 42

    When I checked line 42, the line contains the following code:
    $post_status = $wpdb->get_var("SELECT comment_status FROM $tableposts WHERE ID = '$comment_post_ID'");

    So how do I go about fixing thos problem?

  2. Change everything back to the way it originally was, and use this hack to simply rename wp-comments-post.php.
