• I just switched to the new ithemes security and everything works fine, however…

Under the “SSL” section, the following message is a bit misleading. It makes it sound that having a server that supports SSL is a bad thing, when it is actually what is required for it to work. The warning should really just apply to the next sentence about SLL support on the server and host. Maybe add the statement about the server either supporting SSL or not after the warning, or something along those lines?

WARNING: Your server does appear to support SSL. Using these features without SSL support on your server or host will cause some or all of your site to become unavailable.

Yes, I agree. I to was confused. I’m having VPS where only one of my hosting packages uses SSL and it was really an issue for me should I turn this feature on or not.
So, I agree with pjc123 the sentence: “Your server does appear to support SSL.” should be removed or rephrased.

Ditto on this.. same issue today while setting up this

Actually, although this is a nice feature and my hosted server does support SSL, I am leary of trying this out in the event that something still goes wrong and I am permanently locked out of my WordPress site. Unless there is a backdoor way in to disable it or reset the password from the server if locked out, then I will not take the chance.

It is probably a moot point anyway, as there will be another SSL bug that will not be detected for yet another 2 years.,
