jQuery doesn't work with WordPress?

So I’m having issues with a few jquery plugins and implementation into a site I’m building for a client using the WordPress CMS. I haven’t received any replies to my posts here > http://wordpress.org/support/topic/jquery-scroll-not-working-jcarousellitescrolltolocalscroll-jquery-plugins?replies=1 but now I’m wondering if WordPress is allowing any jQuery at all.

I’m using HostGator, and will be switching the site to GoDaddy hosting, but those shouldn’t have anything to do with the jQuery, correct? I’m new to jQuery, so if anyone knows of a short test I can do, maybe an ‘alert’ of some kind, I would be ever so grateful.

In the above post, you will note that I am not using plugins of any kind on the blog, not even the default.
