• I just upgraded to the jwplayer 6 and was amazed that all the custom player sizes were gone on all article pages.
All was back to default. This is crazy stuff.

I just worked my way through 1500+ articles to migrate/replace the previous player with your jwplayer because it looked promising. Especially the Google tracking was great.

And now after one month after our migration you come up with an upgrade that destroys all the custom-players that I made for lets say article pages and the home page and also stripped the Google Analytics. I’m pulling my hair out!

I went to the dev environment, upgraded to 6 and checked again. All players are still there in the player management and in the article I can see that the player still has: [jwplayer config=”Article XL” mediaid=”35798″] but the size is the default small size…

So my question is. What’s up with this jw 6 upgrade that takes out the Analytics and reverts all video’s to the default size in all posts….

Saving all the player setups in the JW-payer configuration doesn’t help and also saving the post with the video in it doesn’t help. The size remains default.

So I went into the post and added the same video again… and now what..
The “embed with” still shows the player sizes but once selected and inserted into the post it is called:

    [jwplayer player=”1″ mediaid=”35798″] instead of:
    [jwplayer config=”Article XL” mediaid=”35798″]

    Why?????

So I need to do a custom sql query again to fix this? What about the people that don’t know how to do that?

Google Analytics is still available for JW6 Premium and Ads player.

The issue with your player configs is indeed a bug and (as mentioned in one of the other threads in which you posted this issue) we will look into it.

If you are not happy with JW6, you can always revert to JW5.

This should work with version 2.0.2 of the plugin. But please note that you will need to need to revert to JW5 and upgrade back to JW6 again after you updated the plugin. This way your old player configs will be imported again, which should fix the bug.
