First of all thank you for creating a great and free plugin! And happy easter!

I have set up a WordPress test install on rhcloud.com. I added the WP Job Manager plugin and created a single job opening. I then added the [jobs] shortcode to a page. This page looks the way I expect it to on Chrome, but on Internet Explorer it does not show any jobs.

It looks like the search query failed or is hanging. The progress indicator just keeps spinning indefinitely. I checked the Javascript console but I don’t see any errors. To make sure there is not some weird problem with other plugins or themes I set the theme to Twenty Fourteen and deactivated all other plugins so WP Job Manager is the only plugin running. I just updated to the latest version of WP Job Manager today (through the update option in the admin interface).

The page can be found here:
    https://test-jobexpert.rhcloud.com/?page_id=38

I’d be happy to give you admin access to the backend if it would help you (it’s just a test site anyway).

Could you see if there are any Javascript errors on the console in IE? I don’t have IE to hand (mac user).

I was at my mother’s house when I made the report. She was running IE9 and had the aforementioned problem. I checked the Javascript console but could not see any error messages.

Today I checked from home where I’m running IE11. No problems here, the job shows up as expected.

So for now it’s just a single instance of IE9 with which I have seen this problem. I will see if I can find more IE9’s to experiment with.

I just created an account with Browsera and ran a test on my page with IE 7, IE 8 and IE 9. The page shows up fine in all three…

I’m stumped. 🙂 I knew what I saw and I could clear the cache and refresh the page all I wanted but no results would show up. It could be something specific with my mother’s computer that did this.

I guess you can ignore this issue for now. If I find a repro scenario I will add it to this report.

Ok, so I tested again, this time using Browserling.

If you have a look at this page, you can see the same behavior I was seeing at my mother’s house. So it’s definitely not an isolated issue on her machine.

With Browserling, I looked in the error console. I saw two messages that had something to do with @font-face apparently, but I can’t seem to copy-paste those. I don’t think they are related to this issue anyway…

Sorry for all the posts but every time I find something new 🙂

Could it be the security settings? Browseling had protected mode, medium-high. I’ve seen a post about security settings + ajax in the past but I cannot seem to locate it.

I have no idea but it seems weird. You are not doing something very special ajax-wise are you? I guess it’s probably some Javascript error but until I find the time to install a VM with IE9 on it I can’t say for sure.

Nothing special no; its just a standard jquery get request to the admin-ajax.php

    I found the issue/doc I was referring to: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/ajax-problems-windows-7-8-internet-explorer-10/

It’s talking about IE 10 very specifically. I was seeing the issue on IE9.

Thats all I can think of aside from security settings and iE addons. The issue you saw yourself wasn’t present on all installs of IE 9 either so this issue does have me a bit baffled..
