For a long time we've been running our game engine project on a single domain, namely jmonkeyengine.com. We've long since had plans to change this to an .org domain that better reflects our open source nature and community structure, and at long last this plan has come to fruition.

The product site is plain WordPress 3.0 with just a few select plugins. The theme is the Product theme from buddydress.com. We like the way it looks, but not so much the way it handles. I got my eye on WooThemes for future improvements.
The community site is WordPress + BuddyPress, along with quite the arsenal of plugins for both. The theme as you can see is just a tweaked default. What I'm most proud of, on behalf of the programmers who accomplished it, is our neat DokuWiki integration. That includes authentication.
On first launch day of jmonkeyengine.org, we received 2000 unique visitors and 11'000 views. With loads more site contents and code advancements we aim to go far beyond that.
If you know any aspiring web (read: WordPress) designer who'd be happy with just a live and active showcase site and affiliate links as compensation for design work, we should talk =)
