[ Moderator note: Topic title de-capped. Please do not post in all caps again. ]

    Hello.
I am editing a daily, international online newspaper.
We use Jetpack for the statistics and appreciate the functions. However, today we received a prompt that a Jetpack Plugin update was available.

We updated the plugin. It restarted and reactivated fine...
Then we were prompted to reconnect it to our wordpress.com account.
We did that too. The result was NOT fine ;)

After reconnecting Jetpack to the wordpress.com account.

all our photos, in all articles thoughout the entire newspaper suddenly showed in opriginal, full size... that made much of the text unreadable.

    WE solved the issue by:
Deactivating Jetpack.. then to reactivate the plugin but NOT to reconnect it to wordpress.com

In other words... our newspaper looks readable and normal again but we do not have any statistics any more...

Help would be very much appreciated. I cannot believe that we are the only ones who have that issue. :)

Best regards and thank you for an "otherwise" good product. I hope we can use Jetpack again soon.

    Christof

    Hello Catfishs.
Nice to hear that we are not the only ones experiencing the bug. Thank you for letting us know. We too hope that this "update" will arrive very soon.

    Catfish.
    Thank you very much, but
    a) I have no idea what you mean with "Photon" module
    b) and should this issue not be fixed with an update as would be appropriate ?

    nsnbc.
    You're welcome,
a)You need to connect and open the jetpack plugin. Scroll down to see the Photon module and click on info then you must disconnect.
b)Yes i think that any update would be appropriate.

    Thank you again.
I appreciate that you try to help, but I don´t understand your explanations. Unless there is an update, I really need an explanation on the level of... 1) log in to your ... 2) then go to the control panel on the left side and look for XXX 3) then do this 4) then that....
I don´t expect you to do that, I think it would be much better if

"DEVELOPERS" with all due respect for the fact that many of them are volunteers STOP uploading PLUGINS before a PROPER BETA TEST. ( lets hope one of them reads this)

    ;)

I think on the level of IT where I am, I would have to wait for an UPDATE hoping it comes SOON.

Best regards and thank you for trying to help.

    Ok, ok
    1) log jetpack
    2) open jetpack and find the Photon module
    3) click on info and disconnect the module
It's over, you have your pictures in the usual format and larger scale.
it's just a way for it to work before a new update jetpack

    Best Regards

What about a reply from someone authorized by JETPACK ???

Catfishs.. again thank you BUT as I already told you many times... I have no idea about IT... Your explanation is "beginning" to help... a little bit :)

    1) log jetpack
WHERE HOW ?? Where is it that I can log in... how to find it... how to even GET THERE :D In the plugins menu ? left side, right? up ? down ? What is written there ?

    2) open jetpack and find the Photon module
    OPEN how ?

    3) click on info and disconnect the module
    On what INFO ?

It's over, you have your pictures in the usual format and larger scale.
it's just a way for it to work before a new update jetpack

@nsnbc @catfishs Thank you both for the reports! We're looking into it, but in the meantime deactivating Photon should indeed do the trick.

You can check this video to learn how to deactivate the Photon module:
    http://i.wpne.ws/Mr5m/content

"Developers" with all due respect for the fact that many of them are volunteers stop uploading plugins before a proper beta best. ( lets hope one of them reads this)

We do test every new update, and a group of beta testers gets the opportunity to test the Beta before we release it to the public. Unfortunately, it seems we missed something in that last update!
Could you post your site URL here, so I can have a look and try to understand what happened on your site?

  13. What about a reply from someone authorized by JETPACK ???

For what it's worth, I'm experiencing the same problem I think. I'm using custom image sizes on one of the sites I developed and through Jetpack 2.35 Photon properly rendered them. However, with the 2.4 update, Photon returns only the full sized image. No big deal. I just deactivated Photon for the nonce.

  16. Sanan? Per the forum welcome please post your own topic with your own details.

  17. Re-opening this topic just long enough to add this reply:

    1. Older versions of any plugin can be found in the Developers tab on the plugin page. In the case of the Jetpack plugin that URL is http://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/developers/
    2. WordPress users who administer their own installation do have ability to manually download and install old versions of those plugins. Downgrading anything is not recommend but can be done. If that is done then the user has to avoid upgrading the plugin again.
    3. Jetpack (like all plugins) is an optional and free plugin. If for some reason it's not working out then a legitimate response is to stop using it and possibly switch to another plugin.
    4. Making demands and implying threats really is not a good reply to post. Again, Jetpack is free and WordPress users have a choice. See above point.

Jeremy has already thoughtfully provided links for contacting the Jetpack support team. It's Saturday so please keep that in mind when attempting to contact them.

I am now closing this topic once again.
