As mentioned in the previous thread, you seem to be looking at 2 different counts:
Your website URL can be shared on Facebook, and can be Liked through the Like button on your site, but when a person clicks on “Like” on your site, they don’t become a Fan of your Facebook Page; Both Likes are for different Pages.
if you want to add a Facebook Like button that will allow people to Like your Facebook Page directly from your website, you’ll want to have a look at the Like Box widget available under Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard.
Hey Jeremy,
Thanks and it makes sense that they are tracking separately. Frankly, I’m making a mountain out of mole hill and I really do not care that the ‘likes’ don’t sync. I see the FB Like widget now, too.
But, just for your understanding…
1) My ‘Likes’ on my website’s home page went down from 74 to 53 after the last JP and WP upgrades. There is no ‘Dislike’ button on my home page. I’m not insane. I know what the count was before and what it is now.
I don’t really care, I’m just letting you know 🙂
2) I also understand, now, that only certain buttons can be displayed as official/linked.
However the Twitter, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon, Reddit and Digg, may also be displayed in “Official” mode. Official buttons will display the number of shares in real-time on your blog, as reported by the specific service.

Don’t worry, I’m still a fan of JP.

I am afraid Jetpack (or any other sharing plugin) doesn’t have any control over the number of Facebook Likes associated with a specific URL. The Like Button is hosted by Facebook, and is entirely controlled by Facebook. The number displayed in that Like button comes from Facebook, as you can see here:
http://api.facebook.com/restserver.php?method=links.getStats&urls=http://www.visitbanteaychhmar.org/
You can also check it by entering your site URL here:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
If the number of Likes has changed in the past few days, and if you think the new numbers are not correct, I can only recommend that you contact Facebook through their Bug report tool here:
https://developers.facebook.com/bugs
Thanks, that’s fine.
I may file a bug report, but I have no intention of losing sleep over it.
I figured it was a plugin/theme/WP issue since the count changed after the upgrades.
Thanks, keep up the good JP work.

After hours of headache I just discovered that one problem I was having of the Jetpack publicize share buttons do not show on firefox and chrome/comodo dragon. When I open my site in internet explorer everything show fine. The same thing happens with prettyPhoto lightbox social links. Has anyone noted this and found a solution?
