• Hi,
I have just activated and am playing around with the Jetpack CPT feature. I have a question about the shortcodes and displaying the featured image.

I don’t like the “hard wired” portfolio permalink, because I have little control in determining how that page looks unless I want it to look like the Blog index page.

So i created a new page and placed the portfolio shortcode on the page. Problem is…it displays the regular image instead of the featured image. This would be fine if all of my images were the same aspect ratio/size. But they aren’t. So the page looks like crap.

Is there a way to force the portfolio shortcode to display the featured image?? Sample page below…

    Hi there!

At present, there isn’t a shortcode attribute in the code to display a thumbnail (for example) instead of the full image that is being displayed right now. The only option that I can think of that could work currently would be to upload custom sized featured images that are all the same width and height. Then, you can use the uniformly-sized featured images to make your layout even, then use the original image within your post in the Portfolio post type.

If you’d like to see this improved in future updates of Jetpack, please submit a request to our development team on GitHub and they’ll give it a look!

I hope that clarifies things! Let me know if you have any questions.
