    Hello,

I recently moved from WordPress.com to WordPress.org and am struggling to get my site up and running. I have reverted to working on my WordPress.com one as Jetpack Plugin disables new site once it is activated. What happens is the screen goes blank except for my site header and I cannot access my Dashboard. My hosting company has had to get me back in each time. I need Jetpack and all its utilities.I cannot do a site re-direct until it is successfully activated. My hosting company are of no help and tell me it is a WordPress.org issue, not theirs. Do I give up and forget about my new site?

I am using Weaver II Theme and site is trulyteachmetarot.com . Jetpack is currently deactivated.

Has anyone any solutions? Just to let you know, I have limited knowledge of the technical language involved.

    Thanking you in advance,

    Miss Tarot Teacher

    Jetpack Mechanic 🚀

What happens is the screen goes blank except for my site header and I cannot access my Dashboard. My hosting company has had to get me back in each time.

This blank screen is called “White screen of death”, and you can usually fix it yourself by following the instructions given here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors#The_White_Screen_of_Death

Jetpack Plugin disables new site once it is activated.

Could you try to delete the existing Jetpack plugin, and reinstall it?

If you keep experiencing issues with a fresh installation of Jetpack, could you ask your hosting provider to provide you with your server error logs around the time when your site went down? It should help us understand what the blank screen is about.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Have tried all you suggested and but with no luck and have persistently requested the error message but between phone calls and emails to my hosting company, no one will come back to me with details. However, I tried to activate it again today and eventually I myself got this message on a blank white screen.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /home/trulytea/public_html/wp-admin/includes/menu.php on line 145

Does this mean I am exceeding my memory allowance as I have asked them if this might be the problem but no one will respond to me? It is so frustrating and now I am locked out of the site.

    Thanks again.

    See:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

You should be able to deactivate JetPack by using FTP or Cpanel to rename or delete the JetPack folder here:

    wp-content
        plugins
            jetpack - DELETE THIS FOLDER

    Hi,

I am back in and Jetpack working. My Hosting company eventually responded and within minutes had sorted the problem. All they had needed to do was increase my memory. Pity it took nearly three months to sort that out. However, Jetpack is back and I can now proceed.

Thank you all for your support and advice.
