Jetpack counter badge

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to make the little counter badge in the left wordpress navbar go away. The thing I’m calling a badge is a black circle with a “2” in it, next to the word “jetpack” in the side navbar of wordpress; it’s similar to the badge that shows when a plugin is available for update.

I’m running the latest version of both WP and Jetpack and the counter shows “2.” I opened and “learned more” about every Jetpack module, thinking the counter was telling me there were two modules I hadn’t read about. Still there.

I must be overlooking something really obvious…
