[resolved] Jetpack Contact Form: need LIST of checkboxes (8 posts)

    Why is there no option fields available for the checkbox field type beyond the label? I need the label to ask the question, then list the various checkboxes as options as one can do with the radio buttons for example.

    I use checkboxes for those times when more than one option is allowed, as is widely accepted HTML standards. Is there no way to do this with the Jetpack Contact Form?

    You should be able to add multiple checkboxes to a form, and save your form. You can then edit the shortcode and add your question before the checkboxes, like so:

    [contact-form]
    Your Question
    [contact-field label='Answer 1' type='checkbox'/]
    [contact-field label='Answer 2' type='checkbox'/]
    [/contact-form]

    I agree that it's not really the best way to build a form though; I took note of your suggestion, and we will consider improving the form module to include this option in a future jetpack update.

    Please include this option in an early update.

    Also, please provide a way of making the label regular rather bold so that it maintains consistency with the rest of the form interface.

    Incidentally, editing the shortcode is really the only way to build a table because the form builder is too buggy for practical purposes. It seems to get confused after a couple of changes.

    You should be able to customize the look of the form element through CSS; feel free to add custom CSS through the Custom CSS editor under Appearance > Edit CSS in your dashboard.

    Do you think you could give me a few examples, so I can try to reproduce the problem and fix the bug?

    Thanks!

    Hi Jeremy,

    Could you give me a CSS snippet that renders all the form labels in normal rather than bold?

    The bugs I've encountered are probably hard to replicate. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium with Chrome 64 bit. After removing some of the default options and adding some new elements, it becomes impossible to drag the items around to reposition them. They keep floating back to their original positions. Also some of the elements I added seemed to disappear from the pane on the left when I added new elements, although they were reflected in the final output.

    Thanks

    You can try adding the following CSS code to your theme stylesheet or custom CSS editor:

    .contact-form div label {
    	font-weight: normal;
    }

    Thanks Jeremy.

    That changes the labels, but not the options under the labels. Do you have a fix for that too?

    I'm sorry to bother you with CSS questions, but I think users would probably prefer to have this set to normal rather than bold by default.

    Try the following CSS:

    .contact-form div label.checkbox, .contact-form div label.radio {
    	font-weight: normal;
    }
