Put this in child theme functions.php inside setup function.
remove_theme_support( 'cleaner-gallery' );

Hello! this did work but the youtube video I had on the same page got very… odd.. much smaller with GIANT gobs of white space around it .. any thoughts? I used the new iframe embed code from youtube. I tried the old code and that worked except the spacing below it was huge…
I’m perplexed.

Regardless of how similar your symptom may be, you should create your own thread out of courtesy.
My apologies. I was thinking that if someone should do what I did, which was to search the forums, they might also have the same problem and the answer would be in one spot.
One of my biggest frustrations with online forums is having to search and search and search for answers to problems.
