Hi,
I have been having problems with the javascript functions since 2.1 I was hoping that 2.3 would have fixed the problem, but I guess not. I have searched and found a lot of people running conflicting plugins, or plugins with broken javascript, but not like my problem.
I downloaded a fresh 2.3.1 install, unziped to my local web server (Apache 2.2.4, Php 5.2, MySql 5.0.41) and everything functions apart from I cannot drag widgets around to sidebars. This is in Firefox and IE 6 + 7 on Win XP Pro.
I test using WOS Portable (Webserver On Stick) which is installed in a directory on my hard drive. Everything is contained within one directory and an executable to launch all the servers.
Now, if I extract the wordpress archive to my web server (unix) and install it all works fine. This to me eliminates my web browsers and os, so it must be the server software, yes?
If I copy WOS to my Vista laptop and run the SAME wordpress install as on my XP machine (All db's are also copied across as well) it will work fine. Not the server software?
I I run the server on my Vista laptop and access it from my XP machine it works fine.
If I run the server on my XP machine and access it from my Vista laptop it does not work.
So it does not like running as a server on my XP machine, but its not the client side, as that works when accessing a remote machine.
Got me a little stumped this has.
Anybody able to help me get this running when hosted and accessed by my XP machine?
I have no plugins loaded, no other javascript, just a plain extract of the distribution from this site.
When I load the widget panel I get the following errors:
Error: unterminated string literal

Line: 12
Error: jQuery("#pagescontrol").Draggable is not a function

Thanks for any tips and suggestions
Regards
Tim
