• Sorry for taking up peoples’ time, but I somehow managed to delete the plugins directory. Can anyone tell me how to put it back? I’ve tried to upload from a stored version of my blog on my computer, but it doesn’t work. I’ve replaced the theme I was using with another one since the original had been changed to call for the optimal title plugin and the whole blog crashed when I lost the directory. All I can think of is to delete the entire thing and re-install WordPress, then hope that I can upload all my posts from the stored version. I have a very basic understanding of HTML, but really don’t know anything about coding dynamic sites so I don’t even know whether or not this would work. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Download the archive for whatever version you are using from http://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/

Upload the wp-content/plugins folder to your host and then download (and reupload) all the other plugins you ‘had’.

If you have a current backup of your WordPress files you should be able to use that–assuming the backup was from BEFORE the plugins folder was deleted.
