  • Sorry, y’all. I just registered as AKingsley.

    1. The file you are trying to access is not available.
    2. avoid using capitals on linux servers.

    OK, I changed the capitalization…improvement….
    Current message:
Warning: Unable to access /users/coolfreepages.com/kingsley/WordPress/wp-settings.php in /users/coolfreepages.com/kingsley/WordPress/wp-config.php on line 31
Fatal error: Failed opening required ‘/users/coolfreepages.com/kingsley/WordPress/wp-settings.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /users/coolfreepages.com/kingsley/WordPress/wp-config.php on line 31
    Can this be salvaged?
    Upload the files yet again?
    Thank you.

do you have the files in the right directories?
    are all your paths correct?
it would seem to be 1 of those

damn it looks like another borked archive extraction bug… 🙁 maybe matt should add a self extracting in folder sort of files :p

    Let me try again.
    I have executed:
    http://www.kingsley.coolfreepages.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php
And I get the following error message:
It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.
I have maintained the integrity of the file structure. Regretably, my first post indicated the wrong path.
I did change the caps to lowercase.
    Any next steps?

My suggestion is to contact your host to see if there is something from that end that they can do for you. Maybe someone else stopping by today will have some other ideas.
Some Wiki links that may help:
    http://wiki.wordpress.org/5MinuteInstallation
    http://wiki.wordpress.org/5MinuteInstallation/wp-config.php
The only other thing I can think of is a corrupt or missing wp-config.php file, but that should create different errors than this.
