Issues moving site back from live server to local (1 post)

    Hi guys,

I'm having an issue moving WordPress...

I originally had it on my localhost, but then put it on a live url. that worked fine, but now I want to continue editing it locally. However, I can't seem to get it working...

Obviously when I moved the site, I had to change the URL. So I figured if I just changed the URL's back to the localhost then everything would be good, but it doesn't appear to be working.

I followed the directions at http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database and changed the two fields to "localhost", but that did not work. All I'm getting is an ugly "could not connect to localhost:8888" page.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong and what I need to change to make this work again??

Any help would be much appreciated. This is the first site I've made with WordPress so I'm still learning...

    Thanks again,

    Ben
