    Really useful, simple plugin

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/maintenance-mode/

Idea is it gives you a maintenance page but anyone logged in as an administrator can still view the site in full.

Works nicley apart from when logged in as administrator I get the site maintenance page, not the full site.

I added the a role manager plugin to check that admin is being assigned the capability “access_on_maintenance” which it is and I checked I am definatly logged in as the administrator, which I am

Has anyone come up against this?

    Thanks

  • I have also encountered the same thing.

Maintenance page displays okay, but when I go to log in as an admin it puts me back out to the Maintenance page. Worked great until recently and just stopped.

Only way to get back in after you are locked out as an admin is to delete the folder from your plugins folder.

Dunno of a solution and have not yet contacted the developer

Same issue here…started out working fine, then got the same issue. I think what happened is somehow my login timed out or something. Once it does that, there’s no way to get back to the login page.

Okay, here’s what you need to do. Make sure you exclude your login page from the maintenance mode in the plugin’s settings. The problem is that unless you do this, there’s no way to login as admin but until you do, it won’t let you see the login page…kind of a catch 22.

Hi everyone, please check out the new plugin version 5.1 with improved options for frontend and backend access. This should resolve your issues.
