The Post Format shouldn’t matter: as long as your post includes an image that’s large enough, it will be included in your Path profile.
Did you actually insert the image into your post, or only add it as a Featured Image?
Could you also try to publish a new Image Post, but using an image larger than 200x200px?

I’ve got the same problems: I’ve tried the new Path feature (via Publicize from Jetpack). The connection to Path worked and new articles are posted correctly (title and URL).
But the image is missing. I’ve read at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize that the images should have a specific size and with the first try I used a perhaps too small image. But I think the image in the actual article http://www.pottblog.de/2013/08/15/elysium-dustere-und-sozialkritische-zukunftsvision-startet-heute-im-kino/ should be large enough, but it won’t be shown in Path.
Any ideas?
@jensm I noticed that you didn’t set any Featured Image for that post. Could you try to publish a new post including a Featured Image, and let me know if it helps?

I’m afraid not. I’ve asked our developer in charge of the Path integration to take another look, and I’ll post again here once we can address the issue.
