Hi, I'm really new to website building so bear with me. We had an existing crude website that we're trying to replace with something powered by WordPress. I followed the instructions for the manual install on GoDaddy's hosting control center. I created a MySQL database and I uploaded the WordPress files into the HTML Directory and I edited the config.php file to reflect the proper username, password, etc. When I try to access the install page however, I'm getting the 404 page error response. Is this because I still have prior existing files in the HTML directory or is there something else I'm doing wrong. Thanks for your time.
I'd suggest that you re-install WordPress in a sub-folder initially.

Hmm I just tried this. I created a sub-directory and attempted to access the appropriate install page. I'm still getting the error message.

I'm guessing this is what you mean?
http://houstonobgyngroup.com/Site/wp-admin/install.php
where Site is the subdirectory where I put the extracted WordPress folder.
kwilsonoffice,
I could probably figure out what's going on if I knew the domain name, but there's another option - you could do an auto install using the Hosting Connection tool. If you'd rather do that, here are the instructions for how to do it: http://x.co/cICq
If you have any trouble with is, feel free to call Go Daddy Support. Contact info is here: http://x.co/cICy
You need to check where you uploaded the WordPress files & folders to. Right now, there is no sign of any WP files in http://houstonobgyngroup.com/site/
