• Hello,
If I want to build a site where all the content/posts will be added by registered users, can this be done just with WordPress or do I need to install extra plugins like BuddyPress?

    Thanks

  • you don’t need buddypress
you can either make subscribers authors or contributors by default
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities

or for front end posting – a plugin like
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tdo-mini-forms/

    Yes WordPress is enough.

Thanks, what I need is the front ending posting.

I’ve installed the TDO mini forms plugin and looks good, but when you create a form you have to set a default category of new submissions. In my case I want people to submit posts about restaurants, in the form there should be a drop down field to choose a country and other fields for the city, address, comments, etc…
So what is the default category for the form? Or do I need something else to categorize the posts?

    Thanks again

Have you had any luck mgran?

I’m trying to do something similar and not getting very far!

Well Skitsnygg, WordPress is very new to me and I’m still learning. I don’t think I will use TDO mini forms plugin. I’m going for the first option that Samuel B suggested.

    Have you tried anything?
