• An Unexpected HTTP Error occured during the API request. This is the message I receive when I try to upload a new theme or plugin. This is happening across all of my sites new and old from 2.8.4 to 2.8.6

Also getting this message under the WP development blog on dashboard
RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: couldn’t connect to host.

    Any suggestions at all????

-Deleted all plugins on one new site to test, no change.
-Changed the WP-Includes/http.php from default 5, to 30, No change

  • Identical problem here – Has been about 12 hours.

New installation, new site. No plugins other than defaults. Only default theme installed. Changed the WP-Includes/http.php from default 5, to 45, with no change.

Any suggestions or ideas? Is this a WP issue or is there a solution that would work?

    Thanks,
    Jordan

Ditto. It’s been an issue all day. Posted here with the details about half hour ago.

    Also hosted on godaddy.

New post won’t show on my site.

I failed to mention that I am also hosted with GoDaddy — Although they have said everything is working fine on their end.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I use GoDaddy as well but when I try to type something it is in white text, I can’t add tags, edit it, schedule a post and the buttons to change the format, text, color, ect. are not even there. Is anyone else having this problem as well? Is this an http error too?

can you upload plugins or themes?

…now the paragraphs on my posts are all screwed up.

Um… uploading has nothing to do with WordPress, it has to do with your server. And since you’re all using Godaddy I’d say Godaddys the culprit. *cough*

Save the smug attitude. We’re not all code geeks…

Just hung up with godaddy. They’re still saying everything’s fine on their end.

#1. Knowing that trouble uploading is a problem with your server has nothing to do with being a “code geek”. It’s common knowledge for someone who dabbles in such things. I mean it’s YOUR install. On YOUR server. So why would it have anything to do with WP?

#2. The *cough* was because I used to use Godaddy for hosting and they suck. Just wait a while, it’ll work again. It’s because there’s too many people per box. WAY overloaded.

#3. If you wanna host your own blog, you’re gonna have to LEARN to be a code geek ;o)

24 hours later (and a different computer) the problem seems to have been resolved.

Any further thoughts on what caused this and how to prevent in the future?

Ok — I’ll say it again. It was Godaddy. Too many people per box. The only way to prevent it is to get a different host.
